About Us

Aloar, Julie and the 10 Children Durheim....
We both grew up on farms and close to the land.
This farm is a heritage, both from the Lord and from Aloar's dad, Edward Durheim. Ed poured his life and vision into the large ranch where Aloar grew up. We are blessed to be able to carry on his legacy on this 120 acre portion of Ed's farm. In 2007 we began building It's the Lord's Farm. (Named such out of our desire to honor God and bear witness to His Name, and to remind ourselves who it is that is the true Caretaker of this Farm).
When we moved here, we brought with us Julie's goat herd that she had raised for over 30 years now, and the Livestock Guardian dogs that protect all the inhabitants of the farm.
We strive to be good stewards of this land. For us, that means raising our family working, playing and learning alongside of each other. It looks like growing much of our own food. It looks like farming in a sustainable way... the animals browse the hills and eat weeds and waste from the garden, in turn creating milk, eggs and meat while simultaneously giving back nutrients that we apply back to the gardens and orchards. Our farming philosophy prioritizes clean, holistic methods, natural remedies, and working in harmony with the environment, including using livestock guardian dogs and herbal and homeopathic means to protect our crops and animals.
Our hearts desire is to use this farm to minister in God's name. So far, that has looked like opening our farm and home to people who have needed times of respite or refuge, single mama's, homeless families and others in need, as well as hosting VBS, dances, youth campouts, family campouts, and even church services.
