Our rabbits -
We raise New Zealand rabbits for Meat and Market. We currently have pedigreed Broken Red NZ, and additionally some non pedigreed NZ stock. We also have a small herd of pedigreed English Lops and non pedigreed pet quality Holland Lops, that are Abigails personal project.
Just like everything else here, we focus on producing a solid, hardy animal who maintains well with a holistic approach. We breed for size, gentle dispositions and good mama instincts. We currently house in cages, but have a goal of rearing at least some of our stock in a more natural colony setting. We feed a combination of alfalfa pellets, fresh hay, tritacale grain and numerous forages from our farm, either fresh or dried, including comfrey leaf, dandelion leaf, clover, plantain, raspberry leaf and lots more. We supplement the babies with commercial rabbit food as well, since the alfalfa pellets are rather large for little babies.
We enjoy our bunnies and think you may too! Rabbits fit nicely into most any back yard or farm and can be a rewarding, educational experience for the whole family. Please reach out if you would like more information. Available rabbits can be viewed on our Sale page. Please make sure to visit, read and agree to our rabbit sales policy prior to making a deposit or purchase.

Why would we want to eat bunny rabbits?

Because rabbit meat is delicious! Of course, nobody enjoys butchering day - it is a humbling experience to be responsible for taking a life... any life. That said, rabbits were designed by God and Nature to be at the bottom of the food chain, and they can be quickly and humanely dispatched with minimal distress. Rabbit meat is lean, dense in protein, and similar in flavor and texture to turkey breast. Rabbits have an excellent feed conversion ratio (pounds of feed per pound of gain averages 4:1) and recycle their feed into biodynamic fertilizer that is rich in phosphorous, calcium and nitrogen. Our favorite preparation is brined in a honey cure and then smoked! Yum!!
